May 17, 2010:
As of May 10 the front 9 greens have been sanded. If you have played recently the greens are brown with some patches of dark green, that is the bermuda "waking up". Optimum temperature and humidity values have not been achieved over a consistent period of time to really encourage growth for this calendar year. Looking forward, we hope for a hot, humid summer to really allow the Emerald bermuda to carpet the greens and form a strong root system.
NOTE: As of May 19, 2010 the back 9 will be sanded and spiked (not aerified).
July 8, 2010:
As of today, both front and back 9 greens have been sanded. Thanks to the higher humidity and warmer evenings the bermuda is rapidly spreading. The superintendent has raised the mower height to allow the greens some strength, therefore the green speed is on the slow side. We are pleased at the signs of progress however there are still areas that need attention.
